Navigating the complexities of scientific publishing, Genomic Press emerges as a pioneering force, anchoring its principles in the swift and impartial execution of editorial decisions. This distinguishing feature not only serves as a testament to our commitment and expertise but also sets us on a path to reshape the future of research communication in a way that is timely and just.

The driving force behind scientific and technological progress is research, the very essence of knowledge creation, policy formation, and innovation. However, its true potential is only unleashed when it is efficiently disseminated. Hence, the faster and more equitable this process, the greater the momentum of progress.

Researchers today face mounting pressure to publish their work rapidly. Delays in the editorial decision-making process can impede the pace of innovation and obstruct the sharing of valuable knowledge. Genomic Press recognizes this urgency and guarantees rapid editorial decisions, effectively catalyzing the transition of research from the confines of a lab to the global stage.

In an era marked by global collaboration and cross-disciplinary research, fairness in editorial decisions is of paramount importance. The opportunity to have one’s work assessed on its own merits, free from bias or prejudice, isn’t merely a marker of ethical standards; it is a fundamental right for all researchers. Genomic Press assures such fairness, attracting diverse, high-quality submissions, and creating a repository of wide-ranging scholarly content.

At Genomic Press, we prioritize speed and impartiality in our editorial decision-making process. We pledge to offer swift and unbiased evaluations of your submissions. This ensures your research reaches its audience in a timely manner, free from bias, contributing effectively to the vast body of global knowledge.

Our commitment to fair editorial decisions means each manuscript is evaluated based on its intellectual merit alone, disregarding factors such as authors’ geographic location, institutional affiliation, or area of research. This guarantees an equitable platform for all authors, nurturing a culture of trust, respect, and diversity.

Genome Press isn’t just a participant in the publishing field; we are redefining its very contours. Our dedication to rapid and fair editorial decision-making is creating a new era, where the efficiency and integrity of editorial decisions serve as catalysts for scientific advancement and knowledge sharing. We invite you to be a part of this transformation and experience a publishing journey that is as it should be: fast, fair, and centered around your research.

The editorial process is complex and multifaceted. In cases where reviewers are in agreement, the editor’s task becomes more straightforward, requiring little intervention. However, when there is disparity among the reviewers, the editor’s role becomes critical. The “review number 3” phenomenon has been widely discussed as a prime example of the latter scenario, in which an exceptionally negative, divergent review counters two highly positive ones.

Rather than being constrained by such a scenario, our experienced editors will undertake a personalized approach to each case, taking into consideration all angles. It is possible that the two kind reviewers may have overlooked an important factor, while Reviewer #3 may have identified a fatal flaw. In other cases, the positive reviewers may have seen the potential of a new direction, while Reviewer #3 may object to anything that does not align with their orientation. In this regard, we will ensure that your paper is not bogged down in endless iterations with Reviewer #3.

If the negative criticism has a solid scientific basis, we may reject your work, but we will override the negative review if the negativity is unwarranted and you have provided a professional and scientifically compelling response.

Our online platforms and targeted communication strategies facilitate scientific engagement and collaboration. Through careful analysis of user engagement and feedback, we identify critical areas for improvement and continuously work to enhance user experience.

Our data-driven approach to website design and content creation ensures that our resources remain relevant and valuable to the scientific community.

Reports are ideal for presenting a set of compelling observations or a concise study. With a maximum length of 3000 words, including an abstract, authors have ample space to detail their research without diluting its essence. Reports may feature 3-4 display items, a combination of figures and tables, and can cite up to 30 references. This format allows authors to deliver impactful, well-contextualized findings in a condensed format.

On the other hand, Research Letters offer an even more streamlined avenue for sharing research. With a word limit of 1500 words and no formal abstract, these letters commence with a synthesizing paragraph to provide context. They may include 1-2 display items and up to 15 references. This succinct format is well-suited for rapidly communicating preliminary observations or concise results while maintaining a rigorous and clear work presentation.

With both formats, Genomic Press enables researchers to promptly share their novel insights, catalyzing the pace of scientific dialogue and discovery.

Regardless of the chosen manuscript type – Articles, Reports, or Research Letters – all submissions should culminate in a crisp, impactful, and novel conclusion. This is your opportunity to solidify the significance of your findings, underline their novelty, and point towards future research directions. It is essential to ensure that your conclusion encapsulates your research findings and conveys their implications within the broader scientific landscape.

Whether your manuscript takes the form of a comprehensive article, a condensed report, or a streamlined research letter, strive to leave your readers with a clear understanding of the value and novelty of your work. At Genomic Press, we believe that a well-crafted conclusion is the pivotal culmination of your narrative, serving as the lighthouse guiding your readers to the full depth and breadth of your research insights.

How to prepare your paper for submission

The foundation of every successful scientific manuscript, be it an Article, Report, or Research Letter, is a clear, relevant idea combined with compelling and exciting findings.

Start with a clear hypothesis or research question that fills a gap in the current understanding of your field. It should inspire intrigue and curiosity, driving your study forward. Your findings should answer this research question and instigate further exploration, sparking new questions and leading to more extensive investigations. Discuss your results within the broader context of your field to emphasize their significance, thereby attracting interest and paving the way for future research.

Deciding on the appropriate manuscript type for your research is essential to ensure your work is presented accurately and comprehensively. Genomic Press offers three distinct formats for your convenience.

For exhaustive research projects where every detail counts, an Article provides an avenue for the complete story. There are no oppressive word limits, allowing you to delve deeply into your study, sharing every twist and turn of your scientific journey.

If your research offers a compelling set of observations yet does not weave a complete story, consider submitting a Report. Reports can be up to 3000 words long, include an abstract, 3-4 display items (figures or tables), and reference up to 30 other works. This format allows authors to share their noteworthy findings swiftly, driving the scientific discourse forward.

A Research Letter may be the ideal choice if you have conducted a brief yet significant piece of research. Research Letters can be maximum of 1500 words and include an introductory paragraph that encapsulates the essence of the work, 1-2 display items, and up to 15 references.

Whichever format you choose, comply with the guidelines regarding word count, display items, and references to ensure your manuscript can be processed smoothly and efficiently.

Whether you are preparing an Article, Report, or Research Letter, your manuscript should be transparent, understandable, and pertinent. Strive for clear and concise writing, avoid overly technical jargon that might exclude a broader audience, and ensure your arguments follow a logical structure. Your research should be set firmly within the context of the current scientific dialogue in your field, and its relevance should be apparent to your readers.

Highlight the novelty and significance of your findings, pointing out their unique contribution to your field. Remember to provide sufficient background information to allow readers to understand where your work fits into the broader context of your discipline.

To ensure relevance, illustrate how your study advances existing knowledge or opens up new research areas. Elucidate your study’s implications, be they theoretical, practical, or both, underscoring your work’s broader relevance to the scientific community and society.

By preparing your manuscript with care, precision, and an eye for engaging storytelling, you will ensure it stands out among the sea of submissions, leaving a lasting impression on both reviewers and readers alike.
